How To: Sprinter Van Operations

4WD

* Need to engage 4WD before vehicle gets stuck. 4WD is not on-demand!
* Important! While engaging/disengaging 4WD, i.e. blinking 4WD buttons:
– driving wheel needs to be straight
– don’t touch accelerate pedal and potentially pass 6 mph speed
* Use 4WD high mode for high speed 4WD driving such as snow highway
* Use 4WD low range mode for low speed 4WD driving such as rough terrain
* 4WD low range mode has dependencies on 4WD high mode
– need high mode to be engaged when engaging low range mode

Engaging/Disengaging 4WD High Mode

* Stop vehicle
* Starting driving:
– straight forward
– speed less than 6 mph
* Press 4WD button
* Wait for button to blink
* Don’t touch accelerate pedal while 4WD button is blinking!
* Shift into neutral mode while vehicle continues to roll forward
* Button stops blinking and stays on/off => 4WD high mode engaged/disengaged!
* Continue driving with 4WD High engaged/disengaged
