Early Birds
3v3
* Play small goal game with early birds. The idea to reward players who come early.
Warm Up
3ka1
* Play 3 keep away 1 (3ka1) to warm up. Two 3ka1 to accommodate eight players. Stronger players in one group.
* Avoid corners for better passing angles.
Passing
Two Cone Lanes Passing
Get Open
* (1+1k)v(1+1k).
* Setup recessed goals.
* Player must get open to receive ball from goal keeper.
Dribbles
Knock Down Cones
* Play 1v2 knocking down cones. Play a 3 field tournament with 3 minutes each session.
Keep Possession
5ka2
* Five passers/two defenders.
* Avoid corners for better passing angles.
* When defender intercepts the ball
– Defender who intercepts the ball becomes passer.
– A new player joins as the defender
– Passer who lost the ball rotates out.
Break Out of Back Field
One Big Goal and Two Small Goals
* Setup two small goals on top of the back-third.
* Players breaking out from back field.
* Rotate goal keepers.
Through the Midfield
Four Goal Game (4gg)
* 4v4.
* Setup 4 goals in the mid-third.
* At most two players from one team can be in one of the four goal area.
* Stop ball in the goals to score as this encourages mid-field controlling.
Line Soccer
* 4v4.
* Dribble to the ‘end zone’ to score.
Follow Pass and Break In
* 4v4: 2v2 in field/1v1 on each end.
* Pass from one end to the other to score.
* In field player can pass to out field and switch positions.
Breakout One
* 5v2.
* Divide field into thirds.
– Top third: 2v1.
– Mid third: void.
– Back third: 3v1.
* Attacker must pass ball from back third to the attacker in the top third.
* One top third attacker receives ball, one of the back third attacker pass through mid third and join the top third attackers.
* Reverse direction and repeat: the top third is now back third and vice versa.
Finishing
Breaking In Goal
* 4v4 with goalie.
* Setup one Big Goal and Two Small Goals facing each other.
* Divide field into thirds.
– Only goalie in back third.
– 1v1 in mid third.
– 3v2 in top third.
