EFTS

Overview

• EFTS stands for Electronic fingerprint transmission specification
• Defines how fingerprint and demographic data are transmitted within the context of ANSI standard

Structure

• Type 1 record
• Exactly one type 1 record
• Contains header info: date, version, transaction id, etc.
• Type 2 recrod
• Exactly one type 2 record
• Contains demographic information: name, address, ssn, rap sheet, etc.
• Type 4 record
• High resolution greyscale fingerprint images (WSQ compressed)
• Fourteen type 4 records:
  One for each finger, one for each thumb, one for each palm print
• Type 13 record
• Latent fingerprint images (uncompressed)
• Type 14
• Low resolution fingper print images (maybe WSQ compressed)
