        On the Windows Machine<\/h2><\/span>\n

        Create Shared Folder<\/h3><\/span>\n

        * Create the shared folder on the Windows side to be shared with VM, e.g. c:\\vmshare<\/strong>
        \n* Right click on the newly created shared folder, e.g. c:\\vmshare<\/em>, and select Properties<\/em>
        \n* Select the “Sharing<\/em>” tab
        \n* Click the button “Advanced Sharing<\/em>”<\/p>\n

        * Enable the “Share this folder<\/em>” checkbox
        \n* Enter “vmshare<\/strong>” in the “Share Name:<\/em>” field<\/p>\n

        * Click the “Permissions<\/em>” button and grant read access<\/em> to “Everyone<\/em>”<\/p>\n

        * Click OK <\/em>buttons to exit<\/p>\n

        On the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager<\/h2><\/span>\n

        Create a VM Shared Folder and Point to Windows Shared Folder<\/h3><\/span>\n

        * Highlight the VM instance
        \n* Navigate to Machine\/Settings…\/Shared Folders<\/em>
        \n* Right click on “Machine Folders<\/em>” and select Add Shared Folder<\/em> to create a new shared folder
        \n* In the “Folder Path<\/em>” enter the full Windows path for the folder you shared in step above, in this case c:\\vmshare<\/strong>. Optionally, you can browse <\/em>to the shared directory created previously.
        \n* In the “Folder Name<\/em>” enter one alpha-numeric string of text for share name. This can be arbitrary, but unlike the windows share name you will use this share name in a step below. For this example we will use “vmshare<\/strong>”
        \n* Enable the “Auto-mount<\/em>” option
        \n* Enable the “Make Permanent<\/em>” option<\/p>\n

        * Click OK <\/em>to close the “Add Share<\/em>” window<\/p>\n

        * Click OK <\/em>to close the “Settings” window<\/p>\n

        Manually Map Shared Folder From VM Linux<\/h3><\/span>\n

        * Start the VM and use the running instance
        \n* Open a Linux terminal and su as root <\/strong>user
        \n* Create a directory to use as a mount point for the shared folder, for example, \/vmshare<\/strong>
        \n* Change permissions on directory just created: chmod 777 \/vmshare<\/strong>
        \n* Run the following command to mount the shared folder:
        \nmount -t vboxsf linShare \/home\/vmshare<\/strong>
        \n* For example<\/p>\n

        \r\nsu -\r\nmkdir \/vmshare\r\nchmod 777 \/vmshare\r\nmount -t vboxsf vmshare \/vmshare\r\n<\/pre>\n
        Auto Mount<\/h3><\/span>\n
        * Shared folders are automatically mounted under directory \/medea\/sf_sharefolder<\/em>, e.g. \/media\/sf_vmshare<\/em>.<\/p>\n
        Test<\/h2><\/span>\n
        * On Windows machine, drop a test file onto the C:\\vmshare<\/em> directory
