    Download and Install<\/h2><\/span>\n

    * Download, e.g. winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.zip<\/em>, from Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel site<\/a>
    \n* Extract to a local directory, e.g. C:\\prog\\VCdControlTool<\/em>
    \n* Copy VCdRom.sys<\/em> to your %systemroot%\\system32\\drivers<\/em> folder.<\/p>\n

    Usage<\/h2><\/span>\n

    * Double click VCdControlTool.exe<\/em>
    \n* Click Driver control<\/em>
    \n* If the Install Driver<\/em> button is available, click it.
    \n– For Win7 32 bit: Navigate to the %systemroot%\\system32\\drivers<\/em> folder, select VCdRom.sys<\/em>, and click Open.
    \n– For Win7 64 bit: VCdRom.sys<\/em> driver is not signed so cannot be installed. see     here<\/a> for a discussion.
    \n* Click Start<\/em>
    \n* Click OK<\/em>
    \n* Click Add Drive<\/em> to add a drive to the drive list. Ensure that the drive added is not a local drive. If it is, continue to click Add Drive<\/em> until an unused drive letter is available.
    \n* Select an unused drive letter from the drive list and click Mount<\/em>.
    \n* Navigate to the image file, select it, and click OK<\/em>. UNC naming conventions should not be used, however mapped network drives should be OK.<\/p>\n

    You may now use the drive letter as if it were a local CD-ROM device. When you are finished you may unmount, stop, and remove the driver from memory using the driver control.<\/p>\n
