Install Windows 7
Prepare DVD Media
* Download Windows 7 Professional 64-bit ISO image from this site.
* Burn to DVD media.
Install Windows 7
* Boot from newly burned DVD media.
* Install a clean copy of Windows 7.
Install Drivers
Lenovo Support Download Site
* Go to Lenovo support site
* Click Drivers & Software menu item
* Search for W530
* Select W530 (2436)
Install Wireless LAN
No networking is installed with clean Win 7 installation so you’ll need to install networking first thing.
* From a machine that has internet connection and go to Lenovo support download site (see above).
* Expand Networking: Wireless LAN
* Click [+]Click for files under ThinkPad 1×1 11b/g/n Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP – ThinkPad
* Download 7zw406ww.exe to a USB stick.
* Insert USB stick back to W530.
* Double click 7zw406ww.exe to install.
Install ThinkVantage
* Expand ThinkVantage Technology
* Click [+]Click for files under ThinkVantage System Update 5.02 for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) – Desktop, Notebook, Workstation.
* Download systemupdate502-02-04-2013.exe
* Double click systemupdate502-02-04-2013.exe to install
* Start System Update program
* Update all options.
Install Fingerprint Reader
Fingerprint reader driver is not installed by ThinkVantage so we’ll need to install it separately.
* Expand Fingerprint Reader
* Click [+]Click for files under Fingerprint Software for Windows 8 (64-bit), 7 (64-bit) – ThinkCentre, ThinkPad, ThinkStation.
* Download g1f813ww.exe
* Double click to install.
* Restart
Other Installs
* Install Firefox
* Install printers
* Install 7zip
* Install notepadd++
* Install AVG
* Install bluetooth (3rd party)
