Repair VMWare Virtual Disk with VDDK

Download and Install VDDK

* Download Virtual Disk Development Kit from here. For example, I downloaded zip version of VDDK 6.0 named VMware-vix-disklib-6.0.0-2498720.x86_64.zip
* Unzip into a local folder, e.g. c:\prog

Repair Virtual Disk

* Open a command window
* Change directory to bin folder of VDDK installation, e.g. C:\prog\VMware-vix-disklib-6.0.0-2498720.x86_64\bin
* Use repair command:

vmware-vdiskmanager -R "D:\vmware\win7\Windows-7-x64-foo-1\Windows 7 x64.vmdk"

* Output

The virtual disk, 'D:\vmware\win7\Windows-7-x64-foo-1\Windows 7 x64.vmdk', was corrupted and has been successfully repaired.
